Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm considering buying and land and going the relocated home route.
Every site I've looked at needs a level site and will re-stump the house on stumps up to 600mm. Is it possible to have a house set higher than that, or move it to slightly less level land, with different sized stumps to accomodate the slope of the land? Is that not done at all, or can it be done, but at extra cost?
Thanks,
Kirsten
Hi Kirsten, thanks for joining our blog. Our next post (being drafted now) will actually be addressing this question among others, but to briefly answer you now here goes. Houses can be transported to and set up on sloping sites (within reason) and this is regularly done. Stumps can be installed at almost any height to suit an owners requirements and to cater to almost any slope under the house. The 600mm you refer to is usually just a standard height provision and extra costs would usually be charged for heights in excess of that.
